Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of mobile locksmith services by The Gateway Locksmiths to you, the client. By engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Services Offered
We provide a range of mobile locksmith services, including but not limited to:
• Emergency lockout assistance (residential, commercial, automotive)
• Lock repair and replacement
• Key cutting and duplication
• Rekeying services
• Installation of new locks (deadbolts, knob locks, smart locks, etc.)
• Security assessments and recommendations
2. Pricing and Payment
2.1. Quotation: We will provide an estimate for services prior to commencement of work. Please note that estimates may change if unforeseen issues arise or if the scope of work changes. Any changes will be communicated to you and agreed upon before proceeding.
2.2. Service Call Fee: A service call fee may be charged for dispatching a technician to your location, regardless of whether services are rendered. This fee covers travel time and initial assessment. This fee is not deductible from the total cost of services if work proceeds.
2.3. Payment: Full payment is due upon completion of services. We accept cash, major credit cards, mobile payment or bank deposit.
2.4. Late Payment: If payment is not made at the time of service, we reserve the right to charge a late payment fee on the outstanding balance, and/or pursue collection efforts.
3. Appointments and Cancellations
3.1. Appointment Scheduling: We will endeavour to arrive within the agreed-upon timeframe. Due to the mobile nature of our business, delays may occur due to traffic, unforeseen complications at previous jobs, or emergencies. We will notify you of any significant delays.
3.2. Cancellation: If you need to cancel an appointment, please notify us as soon as possible. A cancellation fee may be charged if cancellation occurs within one hour of the scheduled appointment time or after a technician has already been dispatched. Special ordered items may be charged accordingly.
4. Guarantees and Warranties
4.1. Workmanship: We guarantee our workmanship for a period of 30 days from the date of service. If a problem arises directly from the work performed, we will rectify it at no additional charge. This warranty does not cover issues caused by misuse, abuse, attempted repair by others, or normal wear and tear.
4.2. Parts: Any new locks or parts supplied and installed by us are covered by the manufacturer's warranty. We will assist you in making a warranty claim with the manufacturer, but we are not responsible for the manufacturer's warranty terms or fulfilment.
5. Limitation of Liability
5.1. While we take every reasonable precaution, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from: (a) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the services; (b) any conduct or content of any third party on the services; or (c) unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.
5.2. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or our services shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the services in question.
6. Client Responsibilities
6.1. You agree to provide accurate and truthful information regarding your identity, ownership, or authorization to access the property where services are required.
6.2. You are responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for our technician at your location.
6.3. For automotive services, you must provide proof of vehicle ownership and identification before services are rendered.
7. Privacy
We are committed to protecting your privacy. Any personal information collected will be used solely for the purpose of providing our services and will not be shared with third parties without your consent, except as required by law.
8. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
9. Amendments
We reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website or provided to you upon request. Your continued use of our services after any such amendments constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
